Privacy Statement – Inner Awakening

Since May 2018, it is mandatory to have a privacy statement if you process personal data. I’m not actively handling your data, but when you email me, respond under an article, sign up for my email update, or become a client (order an e-book, book a session, or choose a coaching program), you share personal data with me through those means. There are several legal grounds for this, such as processing data based on consent, by execution of an agreement, by legal obligation, and based on legitimate interest. Personal data that is processed
Personal data is collected automatically when you visit this site or when you actively share your personal data with me. This includes:

• Name and email address (when you respond or download/order something)
• Gender
• IP address
• Location
• Data about activities on my site
• Internet browser and device type.

Commenting under a blog article
When you post a comment under an article, you are required to enter your name and email address. You can enter an anonymous name if you prefer for privacy reasons. Your e-mail address and IP address are collected automatically because it allows me to delete spam comments or take action if they are threats. But if you want a comment deleted, you can do this manually or send me an e-mail. I will respond to your request within 24 hours.

Entering a contest on social media
Every now and then, I host a contest on Instagram, which you can enter voluntarily. If you are the winner, I will send you a private message asking for your address so the prize can be sent to you. Because in most cases the prize is sent directly by the brand I partner with for the win, I share your data with that party. I do not keep this data, so it is only used for sending the win.

Online product download/order
If you order an online product (e-book), you need to enter your first name, last name, email address, and address. This information will be used for the invoice and to send you the download. If it’s a paid product, you share your payment details (ideal or bank contact), but I don’t do anything else with that.

Services
When you book a service (session or course), I ask for some more data such as your completed questionnaire where I keep records of sessions. This is securely stored on my computer (not in the Cloud) and I keep it for when you want another session. Would you like this removed? Please email me. I record session only with permission.

Consent with minors
It is not my intention to collect data from visitors under 16 unless they have obtained permission from a parent or guardian. However, this is difficult for me to verify. Has data been collected on a minor without permission? Please feel free to contact me. I will respond to your request within 24 hours.

For what purposes are personal data processed?
Inner Awakening processes data for the purposes and/or interests listed below:

• To analyze behavior (such as which blogs are most read) so that I can improve my site.
• So that you can leave a comment under an article or download/order an online product.
• To send a notification when someone responds to your comment, but also so I can block spammers.
• And to contact you if you win a contest or if you are a customer for one of my services.

How long is personal data kept?
Your shared personal data is kept for no longer than 12 months. This can be shorter if you make a request to me by e-mail. I will then delete your personal data manually. As indicated above, you can unsubscribe from my e-mail update at any time by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of my e-mails. If you do not do this yourself, the data will be kept longer than 12 months to keep you informed.

Sharing personal data with other parties
I share your personal data with as few parties as possible, and certainly not without reason. Your information may be shared with the parties listed below, in order to keep Inner Awakening up and running, improving and performing work:

• The hosting company Natural Hosting, which makes sure the site stays up and running, stores data from my site. This includes information entered through a comment, such as your name, email address, IP address, and the content of your comment (see privacy statement) and where I arranged the domain of this site.
• Google Analytics also stores data, which I can see in order to improve my site for you. Think of location, gender, what pages you visited for what time, internet browser, and device type. However, I do not then see what the name is and therefore not specifically that it is you. Google can also use the data for advertising.
• For sending update emails I use Mailchimp; for regular emails, I use Mail. To let you book an appointment I use Calendly. For video call sessions I use Zoom. Furthermore, I use Instagram or Whatsapp.

And about cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device the first time you visit a site. This is to make the site work properly, so you can use it comfortably. If you wish, you can delete them and set your browser to stop storing them. Cookies are also used on Inner Awakening for functional and analytical purposes. You can always delete Cookies yourself. (said Consumentenbond).

View, modify or delete data
By privacy law, you have the right to see, modify or delete your personal data if you wish. You can always withdraw your consent to the processing of data. In any case, please send me an e-mail, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Personal Data Authority
I am obliged to mention that you have the possibility to file a complaint with the Personal Data Authority. For this, you need to start a petition procedure, by writing a letter to the district judge. But I would like to ask you to contact me first, so we can work it out together. If necessary, this privacy statement will be updated, so please check it regularly.

On Inner Awakening (both blog and social media channels: Instagram, TikTok, Facebook), I share inspiration on all kinds of conscious topics. No rights can be derived from the content. Hate comments, threats, or spam comments are not wanted and will be removed immediately.
I sometimes review products, which I choose carefully because I only share brands that I personally support. Please realize that whether you like a product is personal. I am not liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from visiting my blog and social media channels or using content I share.

The information on this site can be changed at any time by me, to correct any inaccuracies or add information.
